Hold

For reasons unclear, when seized with fear.....we hold our breath;

angered, we hold our temper; and when impressed...

..you're held in high esteem.

When late, we hold on a second...and everytime you've felt like speaking your mind,

you've been told to hold your tongue.

We've all been told to hold on to that thought,

been held a captive audience, or to hold up your hands. Hold onto your hat!

I've been told to hold my liquor, and to hold my horses-when "ponyless"!

I know to hold someone dear, and to hold my own...

..but, my own "what"?

I've been put on hold, and told to, "hold for my party"...

..and holding up my end of the bargain, has irritated me- ever since I was first held up in traffic.

Holding a tune, is better than holding an opinion...and it's always better,

to hold aces over queens.

Having a hold on someone is better than being held-up...

..or adjusting the verticle and horizontal holds on your t.v. set.

Hold on.....hold up, my friend.....

hold your head high...and hold your water.

I hold you in contempt...

..for holding your composure for far, too long;

and for holding hands..........................................instead of holding a conversation.

Hold a summit, or a debate.....or even a conference...

..but never,

ever...

hold on,

for too long.

Doc, I can’t say enough

Doc, I can't say enough about how impressed I am with your development in poetry. I know I criticized you a lot for your style before. You were writing song lyrics, where you can get away with bad poetry because the music carries it. Now you are writing true important poetry. I applaud your courage in trying a new style, I know it is not easy cheers, Jess

Jess...

..when I ever find that I'm not producing "bad poetry"...I'll tell the "tale", For now, I'll squeek by. Can you tell me how to NOT be obstreperous in my writing ? I need to know the way to balance. I'm not that physical. ...and I'm certainly not the poet that I want to be. or that I could become. Try the heighth I'm at. I could surely use your hand at comprehending. You're the "man", doc.

NOT be obstreperous in my writing ?

Fuck off, you got every right to be obstreperous in your writing. And you do it well, without being offensive. Maintain the rage! This world needs love but it also needs the rage to change things. The rage of the Australian people just ousted that despicable, racist toadying worm, John Howard. Also we are well on the way to getting rid of the useless 2 party system. Remember a Green vote is never wasted, it's a vote for the lives of our children and the planet itself. Sorry for getting political on you but Aussie is one big party right now! cheers, Jess

when you say a "time" do you mean a bad time?

Depression? Or just time out? If it's depression please try to remember there will be better times. I have come very close to suicide several times in my life and have always been glad later I didn't do it. Not just for the good times I would have missed,but for the crime I didn't commit against those who care for me. And there are always us who care. cheers, Jess p.s. did you know "such is life" were Ned Kelly's last words before he was hanged? Ned Kelly, Aussie's most famous outlaw.
