Fer to Kill

Laurel held her mineral heart

At times chameleon gold;

It was then swapped to stone

So very wintry cold.

But wait! for just a moment ...

It just might could switch to silver

Almost any man would kill fer.

Here Alone ...

at the library, where my internet connection lies, I am appreciating your comment, friend sinbad. Thanx. I might add that writing simple I think's easier than writing complicated. Strangely enough, more can be said with simple. Let the reader mine available complexity from his/her own mind. Of course I dare, in my reply to your comment hereabove, to state as fact what might be more aptly termed belief or opinion. But that's OK. Hedging, like this may be, can be fun too. Yours, Chuck

Once again I must call you to task,

for your reactionary sexist dehumanizing views. To reduce a woman to an element or stone, how could you? But then again, would probably try to kill you for her. cheers, Jess

I Do Think, My Dear Jess ...

that if you look more closely---and carefully---you are apt to see I talk of her heart, the one that Laurel's in charge of, and not Laurel per se. I'm well acquainted with men who are blatantly sexist. I'm firmly ensconced at the opposite end. I know for a fact I am not in denial when I say---quite clearly, I hope---that I am farther from being sexist than anyone I've ever met ... or even heard about. You are the only person who has ever accused me of such. I guess that makes you special. Unique. And so very, very wrong in your assessment. Which is ridiculous. Regards, Chuck

Oh Chuck, I was teasing you!

I hope you know I already know you better than that! But if I was a betting man I would bet I am less sexist than you! I was brought up with 5 sisters and my best friends mother was an early feminist and a friend of Germaine Greer! That's not a challenge, it's an agreement. cheers, Jess
