What Autumn Falls

If deeds, like plums, be

hanging fruits that beg be plucked,

Bard's words be leaves that

autumn fall from stately trees

Whose wint'ring trunks sleep still ...

to wax anew come spring's abundant crop

To grace from airy high

another grateful year.
