A Season of Reason (Sonnet)

For her, the moon slowly rose from its sleep
While cascading stars glistened a soft light
And the evening blue skies slowly grew deep
As cool breezes began drifting her flight     Behold the world her wondrous arrival
She blankets the ground a frothy cover
Replenishing earths healthy survival
Captivating your heart like a lover     With a puff, clouds precipitate her air
Sending celestial flows of pearl flakes
That whirl about, giving sparkles to hair
Silvering evergreens and frozen lakes
She is the season of silent night snow
She is the reason that spring flowers grow

Nothing boring....

about Mother Nature. :) Very good first attempt at a sonnet dear friend. Last line of the 1st stanza needs another word I think and was thinking that "silvering evergreens" could be more eye catching by playing with words a bit, not sure what to suggest though. Have a great day. Patrick/AO

A Picture of Winter

I liked it! I liked the words chosen. I had to read it a few times but I realize in your own words how you were describing a winter season! Nice!
