This Night

They said that you would cause me pain And that after a while you wouldn’t remain But I was blinded by your sweet lips That took me on unforgettable trips Your smile convinced me that I will be stay How should I know that you would leave some day? Your eyes told stories that I wouldn’t want to end I thought they were jealous but they were a loyal friend Your soothing touch took me to paradise’s door How should I know you would knock me to the floor? That body of yours kept me begging fore more In the end I was the good guy you had to explore The man who would die to hear you speak Became the man you made very weak I should have known of your ways Now I will think about you for days I will resort to long nights and many tears Tonight I am learning how to forget years Of a joy that can never be replaced in any form Tonight my clear skies were replaced by your storm

I feel your pain, been there,

but don't feel the rhyming couplets work for you, either a more complex and less forced rhyming scheme or plain verse would carry your pain with more integrity, just my opinion, cheers, Jess

I tried to ignore

when I was taught think some more think about her and what you think and feel the feelings right out the door then I discovered the qenious in this or the memories of bliss well the feeling might not be as such or not as much but it is fun and a joy for the moments they rebound and fade away a happiness without the pain yes this does indeed exist so see ya and remember Paul because that may truly be the beauty of it all ;-) Spell check please.

been there

You write of this like you know it well. I know it all too well. From both sides I regret to say.
