That walnut shell

That broke my tooth---

That! walnut shell ...

Well, it just well

Can go to hell!

as a person

who is painfully allergic to walnuts (one taste will trigger a migraine in under 30 seconds for me) let me commend and applaude this poem saying "I feel your pain." I wish sometimes I could tell my walnut shell to simmer in hell. You eloquoted fine, in fact quite well. Mark W.

Actually ...

I've benefited from sufficient intervening time to feel better. The incident happened about 15 years ago at a morning's meal at an Oregon bed and breakfast. The woman cook and manager of the house had put homegrown walnut pieces on my oatmeal---not knowing a rock-hard shell bit had infiltrated. I remember the shock at the point of bite ... and the ugly pain that after flowed therefrom. It took a competent/dedicated dentist to remedy the situation. I remember the whole thing quite well; in fact, as vividly as though it had happened yesterday. Thanx for the sympathy comments here. I think by this time I've earned them. Yours, Chuck PS: I smell a touch of cannibalism here, of course---one nut eating another---and the act is probably held to be a sin of some kind in at least a few religious circles.
