A Feather in Your Cap

Sometimes it really matters

what one thinks.

Usually it does not.

Should you be able to discern this...

..you get a feather in your cap.

Sometimes God or mother earth

Display their wicked sense of humor.

Should you be able to tolerate this...

..you get a feather in your cap.

Sometimes all you need to show people

is courteous respect.

Whenever you make others feel good about themselves...

..you get a feather in your cap.

But here's  the "rub".

Wear that cap in public,

their reactions may sour...

..and you may end up stoned to death.

Plus, feather caps are rarely in style.

I love this!

often it seems the poems of yours I most like are the ones you are least comfortable with. Does that say something about you or me? cheers, Jess
