Hope Without Hope

I remember those eyes,

The look of despise,

I remember the pain,

Of the the vicious shame,

That overcame,

My last shreds of blame,

I was tested that night,

And left with the sight,

Of the look in his eyes,

Then the quick disguise,

The feelings supressed,

It became such a mess,

As the chasm deepened,

We were left with our demons,

We both cared, too deeply I think,

Yet,misunderstanding is what made us sink.

We both let our past have a part to play,

We both made wrong choices along the way,

I knew that night was the last it would be,

A feeling I had deep inside me,

So I told you the things I wanted to say,

Yet,I hoped without hope, there'd be one more day.
