Re-Lies

said again over and over

until they are believed

at least by the teller

repeated and repeated some more

until they make somewhat sense

at least to the teller

rehearsal after rehearsal

until they seem innocent

at least in the tellers mind

alibi to support alibi

until they get off easy

at least that's how the teller sees it.

Re Lies

A very good friend once said 'A good lier needs a good memory'. I like the way you have written this especially the twist in the end. They may get away with it but there's still the conscience to answer to I guess. Re-lies is an interesting title. A double play on lies told over and over and relying on others to support them? I like the repetition at the beginning of each stanza - it adds rhythm and flow. Nice work. Kaz x It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.
