Rock-Tanka-Acrostic

cocaine to my brain

release from fucking caring

a welcomed numbness

cravings for just one more hit

knowing it was killing me

check

your minor spelling problem on "welcomed" my brother. Other than that this is either the most sincere and upstanding piece on this site, or a carbon copy of "Loser" by Beck. Mark W.

I shiver.

Haven't done coke or smack for nearly 14 years and still this poem I can taste it in the back of my throat and notice my hand start to stray towards a fit that got tossed 14 years ago. It's a mother of a monkey. cheers, Jess

Gritting my teeth

still. Reading this brings back memories I don't want to have but what ya gonna do :) I like how truthful it is. Strange how even when we know something is bad for us we still do it just to escape reality. Glad those days are gone, gone, gone.

A truth so many know...

...but not many can sum it up so nicely in 5 short and intense lines.I thought this peice brave and heartfelt. Not many of us will admit to this weakness and those who do are the strongest.Bravo! Lacy,

Thank you Lacy

I have always had a short coming for being brief(ADHD). I am very easily distracted. In a way that contributed to my recovery. In ink, David

reminds me

of a song by Hannes Wader (cocaine all around my brain). Thankfully, the only drug I ever used was weed- and I don´t do even that anymore...On your form: Master of Tanka- receive your belt(...ooops, that´s martial arts, I´m getting too involved in judo...)ID

As odd as it is I just submitted "Kung-fu Hot"before I read your comment. Rhonda introduced me to Tanka,The acrostic form works with it well, don't you think? Your Charms inspired this. Both you and Rhonda nudged me to the next level. Toward the Horizon and Beyond,Escape Artist one and all. In ink, Dabbler Without Box
