Shadow Medium

my canvas in purgatory  without  paint

brushless art  with shadows

on pillars of pride

and obstacles of shame

fragmented stained glass

casting limited colors

into dimly lit corridors

the many shades of gray explored

by this artist in lament

my visions created… then fade away

Some mistakes

...in spelling but the subject touched me.I myself am a painter and can identify.Again short and sweet, but with an intensity that overrides. Good job, L. P.S. My name is Lacy, in case you wondered, lol.

My canvas in purgatory without paint

I would be suffering...waiting for a reprieve without my art pencils! I like this piece a lot. "Casting Limited Colors." It seems the person here is feeling stuck or stifled. If I am wrong...please forgive. I like it! Wolfy.

I am so glad I have only two media.

word and moving images. Though sometimes I wish I had the whole panopoleaia of media, might attract a few stray muses. The poem really works for me regardless of media, you already know about my straying muse (I think she is having a relationship with my best friend, inspiring his political activities) cheers, Jess

red ink

I like "Medium Zero" very much, connotations of Ground Zero. Remove errant spaces at beginning of lines. pillers pillars obsticals obstacles lite lit space after ... Form and content I have nothing to say, could not improve on it. But maybe just maybe, reverse the lines and condense "casting limited colors through fragmented stained glass" "fragmented stained glass casting limited colors" cheers, Jess “Are we having fun yet?” Zippy the Pinhead

Painting with shadows

Hi Dabbler I think the main thrust of your poem is the artist's feeling that he is losing his power to paint creatively. Colours fade into greys and shadows. It's a bit like a writer having writer's block. I therefore think the title should reflect this central idea. I suggest something like "Painting with shadows". Question: Doesn't a painter paint "on" a canvas or a ceiling or a pillar? Are there good reasons why he is painting "onto" and "upon" in this poem? Spelling: "obstacles". Regards De Waal

Thank you for a ray of light upon this work ...

you unlocked a whole new dimension (brushing to much 'ing' not good for poems) brushless ties the logic in the beginning, this comes incluse with you condensing of upon, and onto.dead weight easily lost the title you pulled out of the dark corner I went to look over my Yellow post-it notes and well "Shadow Medium"or "Medium of Shadows"?Painting with shadows still not in the garbage though. In my few pieces I have the commision of a photographer,a metal and sand sculpture,as well as a model/performance/dance artist I only wish I had been a founder in the group.I would be able to travel with them. They did a piece at Burning Man."Where Art Thou" is their name I hope to have some pictures e-mailed to me.Oh look at me all carrying on... Many thanks, Dabbler
