inimical cats, those pusses

it truly has to be

that sentient octo-puss

and skittish platy-puss—

and also upright

pithecanthro-puss—

quite doubtless be

the such as feral cats

(prodigious acrobats!),

the kind who like so oft to sink,

as I’m inclined to think,

and then to boldly swim—

and hence betimes will

choose to eat you …

and that past tearing you

quite well to pieces,

with a sturdy lion’s heart,

your limb … from bloody limb.

you

sound, chuck, like a cheerful edgar allan poe in this one here. what a mouthful, too: "and also upright pithecantrho-puss"--you inspire a magical interest in and a strange renewal of language, and i imagine these little chess sets of poems you produce must take some serious time. great job, as always!

Beware platypus, my friend

with bill most ineffectual, it defies the intellectual with cunningly hidden and quite forbidden (for all other mammals) poison barb aimed at barb sdad, most effectual. cheers, Jess
