New Year

Raise your glass, Happy New Year.
Give a toast, shed a tear.
For those that cannot be here.
To celebrate our good cheer.
A New Year dawns, it spawns.
A brighter future.
One that we should nurture.
For the sake of friends gone past.
And loved ones, that love shall last.
Welcome with open arms your friend.
Your enemy, and extend.
The hand of friendship.
Of courtship.
That Families split.
The world over, candles will be lit.
In the minds of those that care.
Those with love to share.
Cherish as an object rare.
My hand is open,my mind is clear.
For friendship, I will not fear
