Haiku from a Christian to an Atheist

If I’m wrong ‘bout God then I am merely foolish. If you are wrong, well…

ROFL! give me some respect man!

Don't you think I looked this all in the face years ago? Have you read "Killing God"? Then who has got the balls to put it all on the line? I see you and raise you the souls of all my family, and my cat and goldfish and my computer! and, reluctantly, my pounamu. If I am truly out of line, am truly wrong I will approach my torment with a half-brick in my hand. cheers, Jess, god gambler

ah, indeed I call your bluff

you would never part with your goldfish! I bet it's just a piece of cardboard painted gold with foil fins! Don't worry, I'll be saving my fire - resistant suit after I attend your BBQ. You can borrow it for a while. :) Mark W.

I’m not going to say

I'm not going to say which side of this debate I support. However, I do not understand why some atheists become so upset about this. If you are so sure of your position, what are you so upset about? Uncertainty is an inescapable consequence of your position. If you really believe it, why don't you just relax and accept your fate? If you don't believe it, then maybe you should change your mind. He has his faith, and you have yours, so what is the problem? (Just out if curiosity, what do you plan on doing with half of a brick?) Just my thoughts on the issue, Mike Landau

erm, um, squirm...

I think maybe just maybe y'all are putting more piss and vinegar into this poem than there needs to be. Jess is a true friend of mine, whom I have many good and deep theological discussions with. There is no hostility in either his reply nor my poem(s). Mark W.

Haiku from a Christian to an Atheist

No matter the form ... when a poet allows the reader to use their imagination within and around their written words ... I say Bravo to you
