The Gamble of Intimacy
Cynthia wants intimacy
but relationships in her past,
has caused doubts to surface
as to whether any relationship can last.
Annabell is willing
but Mark won’t even try,
there’s so much apprehension
all hope is doomed to die.
Intimacy’s the solution
it goes beyond letting someone kiss you,
it’s a matter of mutual sharing
past layers of scar tissue.
Matters of the heart
are delicate, you see…
the scales of doubt aren’t aimed at you,
the balance lies deep within me.
I can doubt intentions
causing sincerety to halt,
but if intimacy’s a dead-end road
it’s entirely MY fault.
