Is this love?

Is this love?

That first look, that first spoken word

that first touch, that first thrilling thought

like the sweet melody of a bird

one's heart sings at the feelings “love” has brought

This melody is one of feelings, sensations

a wordless melody, one that only once touched by

the first trills of the sweet notes

will you feel the vibrations coursing through you body

you will feel that you are one with the universe

you will feel like you have the answers to all

the unanswered questions that you always wanted to know

you will be left with the thought that you are about to fall

a fall that will change your life

your very perception of what you thought life would be

this fall will cause you to open up and speak more freely

of your dreams, your secrets, your hearts very desires

you feel all these emotions in one

its like taking that first deep breath of fresh air

you know that no matter what has been said or done

you now have someone with whom you can share

first comes the love, the oneness in mind and soul

then comes union, the ultimate journey

which someday each one shall embark on

resulting in an all consuming explosion of life

A logical look at love...

Oh the butterflies in the begining; I like the fact that you addressed the biochemical part, but also said what so few love poems do; that true love is about growing together; sharing life...your first attempt in a long while is a good one; but I am interested to see what you write when you fall head over heels
