Fun with Henry James

Fun with Henry James

1811-1882

(his words in italics)

[c]ats and monkeys,

monkeys and [their] cats—

and even at some site quite such

as modern Laundromats—

all [sorts of] human life [be] there.

acrobats and proletariats,

those proletariats and

acrobats—

so furthermore albumin life be there.

it makes no difference if you care,

whether not you stare—

or how you grandly fare:

the microscope, unblinking,

may be leveled rudely—

damned near anywhere.
