Understanding

Have mercy
on the ignorant
for they know
not what they do
Have compassion
for the ignorant
for the ignorant
just might be you
Judge not those
whom you do not understand
for they will be judged
by a mightier hand
God put a light in us
to teach us right from wrong
but when someone
does something evil
there light has been out to long

So have mercy on the ignorant

for they know not what they do

Have compassion for the ignorant

for the ignorant

just

might

be

you

,an expression of your faith, and a bit of humor,in a poem that feels to me like Shel Silversteins poetry(he's my favorite.).WOW! In Ink, David

Thanks

David, I am glad that you like this poem. It makes me feel good that you do. I know not everyone will like it but that is ok. I will always write my thoughts and feelings no matter who judges me. :)Your friend, Julie

Julie...

Your a bigger person than I, I subscribe to the kill em' all let god sort em' out theroy, eye for an eye kind of thing, not caring if the world goes blind; However; you set a good example;who knows maybe one day I will reach that point of understanding, something I am working on.

Thanks Frost

After my sister was killed by her boyfriend in 2001. I hated him with a passion for the pain he caused me and my family. I too wanted to kill em' all but God spoke to my heart and told me that it was not my job to judge or persicute anyone that HE will take care of it. I was able to then forgive (not forget) him and move on with my life. After experiencing such deep pain and grief most things that now happen in my life are just small things. I try not to sweat the small stuff knowing that at any time my life could be over so why waste it on hatred or being unhappy. I 'm glad you liked this one. :) Julie

This is so true!!!!

Hi Julie you are so right with what you say in this piece!!! I loved this read thanks, i wish i could pardon two people in my life that have hurt me almost beyond repair. You are a better person than i am to be able to give it over to God to resolve, because at the end of the day He will deal with the perpetrator, i just wish i could reach that point...... Thanks Kind regards Feebie Mistakes happen, do not dwell on them, live them, mourn them and move on to better things. (PS: if that does not work eat lots and lots of chocolate)

Thank you

Feebie. I am glad you like this. :) I found that if I write down what is bothering me it gets easier to handle. I usually write a poem to validate my feelings and it helps me to figure out how to approach the person who is hurting me. I wrote the poem My Thoughts for my boyfriend and after I gave it to him our whole relationship changed (for the better. We talk a lot more now and are a lot happier. :) Julie
