The Animal in me

             

 

                    There is an animal in me

 

                    With fur like a shag rug

 

                      It creeps like a lion

 

                        Stalking its prey

 

                      It roars like a lion

 

                      It lives in my soul

 

              It makes me angry when needed

 

               I wish it could run real fast

 

               And take my anger with it

 

               Bringing back my feelings

 

             To the gentleness of a kitten

I too have the Gift of above average senses....

I made mention for my Cin Quan poem in the 7th grade only behind the class example that a fellow class mate submitted as his own,I won twice once as an individual and as a class mate.I am looking for that poet lost along the way.See if they have a school district ran poetry contest.You will see his face light up when he reads his work in a publication and years to come he will relive it.How I tuned my ADHD?I may never know,There is hope,in hobbies give him plenty ,never let him throw things out in frustration,leave last weeks project next to the current project,his sopmore year in highschool will be his most difficult,See about ADvantage classes I was blessed by a special ops teacher.(WALK BETWEEN THE DISTRACTIONS YOUNG FELLOW). The lion can run away if you let it...

The lion can run away if you let it, I struggled with rage most of my life up until recently, and now the moments are fewer, but I still have my times, poetry really helps me to release it, eventually I found that beneeth the rage lay other emotions like fear, hurt, and dissappointment, keep writing and you might just find the gentleness you wish for

Your comments have made Cory's day. He had the biggest smile on his face while he was reading. I explained to him that he is not alone with his condition and that others have felt the way he does. Hi Julie and Cory This is truly the sign of a good poet in the years to come Julie!!! Encourage him to write all of his feelings and turmoil bubbling up inside on paper, and you have not only an outlet for him but also the makings of one very talented writer there!!! Cory, you are a strong, stunning young man, and i look forward to reading more of your work in the years to come!!!
