Just Slap Me

 

If ever I should ponder

who am I

Or condescend to

generate a sigh

 

The while you fabricate

for me a lie,

Just slap me hard

aside the head

 

Just right afore

I’ve gone to bed—

To make myself

much more learned …

 

And utterly well read.

Hmmmm yes....

Hi Barbsdad2003 I often wish that somone could "knock' some sense into me to before i go sleep in the evenings lol and that i would hold onto that the next day. Good one, thank you. Kind regards Feebie Mistakes happen, do not dwell on them, live them, mourn them and move on to better things. (PS: if that does not work eat lots and lots of chocolate)

As a hedonist I get alot of...

people that assume I hate pain. I find pain in a routine moderation to get me through reckless behavior. How refreshing when I read something that shows me I'm not alone. in ink, Dabbler

I am barely with this and if I am down on me I would hope someone would try and understand and help me try and fix what I might not be able to at that moment but this is me. I would probably smack you two (Daddy and Wierdo) up the side of the head anyhow lmao TeeHee But in all seriousness for some the "bamm" and others the kindness. Chuck you, darn just do not know what to say - you are a wordsmith!

Just needed to come back

I think that this poem is really great. The only problem I have with it is that I don't understand what last line means. How does it make you utterly well read?

To respond to your question, it doesn't. Unless it does. I think, in light of the above two sentences (of mine), that "how" it does it---or doesn't do it---is irrelevant, needs not be addressed, and is quite beyond the scope of (and would unnecessarily burden) the piece. Yours, Chuck
