I Perceive

and

forceful
is the presence

I feel
the darkness

that
protrudes
from you

is choking me

you have such
wonderful
and controlled
despair

even
your subconscious
has
a life and power
of its own

I am its unwilling
and chosen target
I have never been forgiven
for holding your broken dreams
in my heroin scarred arms

a part of you
has always stalked
always hunted me
down

and now I am
found
and in my
nakedness

my macho pride
has led you
to the feast

that is my weakness

to be devoured
alive
and regain
full conscioussness
is a sadomasochistic
fantasy

for someone
alas
not me

lips of subconscious
bliss
open
and into the
darkness
I go

very

pure poetry, very pure. that's the first thing that came to mind reading this. i envy your ability to write so untramelled by the self consciousness that usually dogs most poets, or maybe it dogs you and it's just concealed, i don't know. the subject is hard to deal with and you make it something permissible and aesthetically pleasing. GREAT job.

Oh Lenny,

you spoke to me so deeply. And into the darkness I often gone. I don't have to wear long sleeves because I always injected different places and mostly "chased the dragon" But always come back! Have you ever seen the Japanese TV series "Monkey"? I took from that my life slogan "The nature of Jess is irrepresible!" Have not done heroin for 14 years, despite the fact that no other pain killers work any more. cheers, Jess
