A Year at a Glance

There’s New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day

then you wait ‘till your hangover goes away,

Martin Luther King day, and his birthday observed,

Ash Wednesday, Lincoln’s birthday, then your Valentine’s served;

we celebrate President’s, Washington’s, and St. Patrick’s day,

after Good Friday and Easter, then March is away.

When we change the clocks, there’s Mother’s day, too

then Memorial day, you bring out the bar-be-que!

There’s Flag  day, Father’s day, 4th of July,

and after Labor day, September’s gone by!

Rosh Hashana, Columbus, Yom Kipper, United Nation,

then, of course we have to change our clocks, back again.

World Series, Halloween, and you "get out and vote",

then after Veteran’s day, there’s a Thanksgiving day float!

Next up? All holidays with a religious source,

Kwanza, Hanukkah, Christmas, and Football, of course!

Spilling into next year, Christmas has put us in debt,

overtime will help, but what of that Super Bowl bet?!

There’s every single birthday and anniversary you know,

add your better half’s list-and watch your list grow!

Now from there your holiday list doesn’t end,

now you’ve got to multiply every list by your friend’s!

There's so many holidays for this year at a glance,

maybe now you understand why I love my cats, and my plants.
