Three Ring Circus

Today will be a three ring circus

the performers have yet to arrive,

I’ll do my best to entertain

as long as I’m alive.

I’ll jump through the flaming hoops

I’ll do a juggling act,

I’ll even be the ring master

and will introduce each act.

I’ll get up there on the tight-wire

I’ll walk from north to south,

in one ring I’ll tame tigers

and put my head in a lion’s mouth.

And after selling all the popcorn

and putting on my worker’s cap,

I’ll be following all the elephants

and be cleaning up their crap.

So cool!

I jump through the hoops for my customers in the bookshop every day, and sometimes have to cop their crap. A perfect workers allegory. I hope you don't mind me saying this on the public page but you have expressed doubts to me about your quality as a poet. Fear not. You are a bloody good one. cheers, Jess
