Break Not My Self

please don’t
assume
and don’t
push your
preaching

into my
essential
sacred space

I am
content
with
the place
were I reside

in these
precious
moments

calmness
slowly
spreads
through
my veins

and
occasionally
baptises
an ill looking cell

you always
do
assume
that
I am
in need
of your

attention

which
then

kickstarts

your pulpit
preaching
self

you haven’t
assessed
the situation

you blindly
climb
onboard your
rose coloured
bulldozer

and raise
to the
ground

my soul
enriching
temple

which I have
delicately
built
with my
innocent
thoughts

borne through
isolated
silent meditation

Brilliantly expresses thoughts and feelings

I have so often thought and felt myself. Through years of pain and seeking I have found or built some frail spiritual structures that work perfectly for me, then some smug (usually) christian rides in hallelujah'ing on their "rose coloured bulldozer" spouting (usually) terrible cliched poetry in rhyming couplets, to add insult to injury. This is very fine poetry. I don't, however, get the line "an i’ll looking cell" cheers, Jess

An ill looking

cell is a biological cell, you know white/red cells. Looking at it I should have expressed that line better. Thanks for your input Jess, always appreciated. Lenny
