Love and Lust

   Love and Lust
  ——————

Love is something devine
falls from the heaven to earth
It expects nothing for it  but
It renders everything to others including itself
Love never ends in lust but
it grows as affection and respect
Lust expects to exploit others
to satisfy it’s needs
Matured love becomes grace
lust may not be so
Lust spoils the character and life
when it develops as aggressive
Love never feeds the violence but
Lust grows in violence and feeds violence
To my Younger generation!
have alove to smash the lust
Pave the way to peace  and
take this world to that end

Ah, Sakthi

(you spell your name differently in different places, forgive me for mis-spelling) One of the things I truly love about your poetry is your range. You can write from the very personal, observation of social situations through to the deeply divine. May I question the use of the word "lust" here? While I agree with the meaning of the poem, did I not feel lust for my beloved? Is not powerful sexual attraction part of love? When I was in the arms of my beloved was that not lust? God (by whatever name) created us with lust as part of love. Not just to make babies, but as a truly intimate expression of love. I would love to hear your reply to this. And thank you for becoming a better member of this site by commenting on other poets work and participating in the forums cheers, your friend, Jess

Dear Jess

Love may have lust to go to the peak of romance But the lust is not only a way to attain divinity or it is not only a way to show your affection to your pair I t is my humble openion it may differ place to place and man to man and time to time
