White Flag
Can I muster strength for courage
Will I tread these waters true
Can I count my blessings one by one
Have the answers to the clues
Its a hectic day inside again
My umbrella starts to leak
This terror grabs me by the throat
I choke- and I can’t speak!
Can I focus my ways into happier days
With my comfort by my side
Or is it the truth
I must walk through my youth
And not enjoy the ride.
Won’t erase the past
Just know it won’t last
Too long
It keeps me down
Do I just sit and wait
On a special date
Till my unhealed scars are found
Do I have what it takes
To accept my mistakes
Though they haven’t taken me far
Can I string up this flag
Though its all that I have
To a day where my heart deals the cards.
