Mythical creatures

The woman for me rides a unicorn to the end of the rainbow

singing stories of true love to a leprechaun

who jabs his elbow in a genies side as to say get a load of this one

the genie doesn’t notice my lovely

he is too busy already granting wishes to the tooth fairy for a money tree.

The Loch Ness monster ran off with Bigfoot to Eden

not leaving any directions about how to get there

and the dragon sleeps tonight at the feet of a giant who is getting drunk

pounding his fist on a table

with the Holy Grail in hand

a treasure map in the other

A Sphinx put out the fire

from which the phoenix was to be reborn

with water from the fountain of youth

Zeus and Thor are arguing about whose turn it is to chuck bolts of lighting at me

and Santa brings the Easter bunny eggs from the golden goose

so he can front god’s son some credit

but Jesus is staying in a losing hand of poker to the devil for my soul

Lots to enjoy in this. I

Lots to enjoy in this. I think you should try to deepen the poem with a sub-theme. Can't help you with a suggestion though. I did appreciate the quirky humor in this work. All the best eric

I love how u collaborated

I love how u collaborated ten different religious beliefs to make one good poem... it almost seemed like a story though.. i love the last line

A really clever piece.

As Quillsvein commented elsewhere, not sure of the line between prose and poetry here. I'm not quibbling as long as you don't try and post "War and Peace"! 8) cheers, Jess

I really like the last line, it is so true... No matter what is going on in the world, Jesus' oly purpose is to be our Savior so that we may get to heaven. Thanks for posting this for us.

a great place to start

I told you that I was going to read some of your work, and this was a good place for me to begin! There's a tone of mischief and the way you wove the tales into one is fun to read. Clever work. ~ Ronda

Whoah

nice mythparty you got goin on in that poem :D Let's just that say that when you mix old myths with absurdity, add some humor and a little bit of edge, you got me firmly hooked. Cool write, Frost! Might just have given me some much needed inspiration :D

Thank you...

All of your comments are much appriciated; for some reason I can't get away from this & the first poem I posted; they just don't feel finished, so I return to them every couple of months hoping to hear something that will help. Frost

This was funny - you managed

This was funny - you managed to pull all those mythical creatures and fairy-tale characters together into one poem - it was storybook character convention...loved how you wove them together seamlessly. Well, you certainly made the woman for you terribly hard to find - are ya trying to say -she doesn't really exist? Great job, Frost! Sincerely, Amara

Amaranthine...

That was the orginal idea that the women for me doesn't exist; but as I wrote the poem took on a life of its own so I just went with it; so yes even today I am not sure that she does. Thank You Frost

Hey Frost

I'm impressed. I really liked the way you put everyone together. I think the write is complete, unless you have more creatures to incorporate into it, and i think it was done well. Bravo. Nice piece for me to read first.
