My Neighbor
She’s an 80-year-old lady
She lives in fear and doubt.
The world has changed so much.
She’s afraid to venture out.
He husband of 60 years
Passed away a year ago.
She’s lost and lonely
It was such an emotional blow.
We check in on her daily
Make sure she has all she needs.
We get her groceries for her
We even trim her weeds.
I feel so sorry for her
One day soon that could be us.
She is a kindly gentle lady
Knowing her is a plus.
She’s like a member of the family
Caring for her is not a chore.
She’s a very special person
My Neighbor.
