The Grim Reaper

I am the personification of death

I am a living, sentient entity.

Be careful what you wish for

You’ll just die when you meet me.

My name is the Grim Reaper

I’ll be wearing a hooded black cloak.

I carry a large scythe to harvest human souls.

If you meet me, you will croak.

Death is the final darkness

At the end of this life.

It has been both feared and worshipped

Since the dawn of time.

I am the Grim Reaper

Death is your destiny.

Try as you may, you can’t escape it.

When you see me…dead is what you’ll be.

I wouldn't be so rude

If I had not read your much better poetry. But hohum to this one. Adds nothing new to death nor brings it closer to the uninitiated. I even suspect you were taking the piss out of young poets who thought they wrote things like this for the first time. cheers, Jess

Didn't like this one huh?

I wasn't attempting to shed new light on the experience of death. As for the uninitiated...if they'd been initiated (to death that is..)...they wouldn't be around to tell the tale.. I agree, it wasn't one of my best..but I had fun writing it...it suited my mood at the time. Thanks again, Brian (bellavistabear)
