Let me dream.

When I see you I loose my breath,

It’s like I give you my all with nothing left,

I act like a school girl by writing your name every where,

But this love is too real and I don’t care,

Your lips make me close my eyes and imagine amazing things,

It reminds of what your sweet touch brings,

Why don’t we just forget the world and build our own little place,

Just you and me,

the birds in the trees,

When you finally get on your knees and ask me for my hand,

We can start our plans,

If noone cares I know you’ll be there,

Your love is better than fair,

I have never felt like this before in all of my years,

This is can’t be real.

Don’t wake me up until this dream is over,

This is no ordinary love,

this love is sent from above.

Don’t wake me up!

Let Me Dream

Hey... You changed your style and it's still good. This poem flows very nicely. Dang, so it is a dream. I got caught up and found I was dreaming, and had to wake up. One day, I will find that someone that can make me wake up and he'll be there. Then I can stop writing in the future tense and write in the present tense. But in the meantime, I'll keep the thought of my Knight in Shining Armor. I loved the poem and "love poems" are so beautiful to write. They are basically dreams... ladywriter

You took me back,

I know this makes me sound old and cynical but I really enjoyed being reminded of young love. Till "When you finally get on your knees and ask me for my hand," that struck me very weird, it was never a part of young love for me, most of my hippy/punk generation never married at all. Enjoying your work. Keep posting. cheers, Jess
