Fools of Summer

 

Summer’s Phoebus baked

As fearful aspens quaked.

 

Carp dithered one by one

In deep dark pools.

 

Small children waked

At early morns to play

 

Quite straightaway

In hotly flaring sun

 

All days like fools.
