Interesting

I like the title and the way you have used it in the body of the poem..this absolutley sings of frustration - the imagery is great - well written and something I think we can all relate to from time to time..nice work

As usual you write with depth and craft

I humbly suggest it might be time to look more at prosody (by which I mean poetic structure not prose)(yeah, i know it says don't criticise mechanics, tough titties) Your prose piece/story "Sewer Lid" has more prosodic qualities than most of your poetry. I suggest more attention to prosody could raise your work to another level. With all due respect, Jess

Well Jess

Not to crimp you and your reviewing flow BUT I WILL NEVER CHANGE the way I write. I do not care about structure so on and so forth. That is my priveledge as a writer. When the form in which I write starts to bother someone then I can only suggest with respect that they don't read it if it does not have the perfection required by those of PHD's and the like. It is what it is. As for another level? I have many an editor who loves the way I write. I have one coming out once again with Cynic mag. I just came out in a fourth book, with two more books out by Jan. with my poetry and I have just received honorable mention ( only 8 spots out of one thousand entries. Not a winner but I'm not picky) With, Write around the block. That poem will be shown on their website in late Aug. So, although I appreciate your comments and can understand them from your point of view, I pick the " don’t criticize mechanics " for a reason. To avoid nasty little return comments like I am giving to you now. As you can tell I am slightly irked. I have been an artist since I was three. I don't swallow the tearing apart of the way I draw well either. Call it owners right, if you will. Either way, this is not a direct hit to you only a glancing blow of the smart ass qualities that I was born with and now in later life choose to utilize. An artist and Aquarians sensitivity to coldness, what can I say. K. Mulroney
