The Usual Place

The Usual Place
by Jim Nasium

Tell her I’ll be waiting
at the usual place
she’ll recognize me
by the look on my face

It’s been such a long time
since I’ve been here before
I had promised myself that
I’d not come here no more

But things build up slowly
then they want to explode
of course I’m always looking
for the mother load

The only trouble I have
going back to my old ways
is that I don’t want to leave
I get lost one night for three days

I always remember that one thing
you told me not to forget
but a man does what he has to
there’s no time to regret

So tell her I’ll be waiting
at the usual place
ask her to look her best
to wear black silk and lace

It’s been such a long time
since I’ve been here before
never wanted to do it
but I’m going back for more…

Good title - interesting story and theme, rhythm and pacing are well done, Like this verse I always remember that one thing you told me not to forget but a man does what he has to there’s no time to regret Overall it flowed well and I enjoyed reading this - Kaz x
