Distant Dream

Inevitability brings me back this problem some how
As the victims of time try to figure out
How to keep from growing older and dying out loud
Well these memories, they plague me like a bad disease
It’s all our thoughts, wishes, all the best we intrigued
But over time and consolation prized possessions we spread apart
Like that famous story of the man and the sea

The shadows from the moon allow our imaginations to run
As the subtleness of agony still burns
The flesh of creativity a child could learn
To avoid love and logic, it would keep the easy pain from your life
But without the increase in adrenalin, it would be hard to stay alive

You put your whiskey in your water to keep yours eyes staring wide
But the memory of eternity keeps god by your side
As you pass through the new memories of your old life
And allow the blood to flow without temptation of knives
But the whining population has you staring at lies
From these abandon building scenes

You fall through your memories like a stone in a well
Echoing back all we could tell
The increase in possibility that you’ll end up in hell
As if we all cared anyways

Well it’s the look on your face
That keeps replaying in my eyes
The loneliness and fear that I know you despised
The agony of love lost and are you still surprised,
That I have been waiting here?

The tears start to well and look for an escape
Like the stairs out on the wall that lead to the break
That allows you to slip away and dream differently for today
But the fear in your eyes and the anticipation in your cries
Lead me to think that our love was the truth
I would follow it wherever it went as long as it led me to you
But your heart refuses love of any kind

Forget all these people that keep you awake
The oldest memories laying in your wake
Forgiveness for you enemies it’s the chance you take
You said you fell alone in everyone’s eyes
Then you followed all the lines that led me to you
And in my deep eyes you felt so alive

But I think I finally realize I won’t be anymore
Than anything closer than touching the floor
I won’t be the one you leave alone to scream
I won’t be anything more than a distant dream

Amazing Imagery!

I really really enjoyed reading this piece - so much to comment on and too few adjectives to hand! The tears start to well and look for an escape Like the stairs out on the wall that lead to the break That allows you to slip away and dream differently for today But the fear in your eyes and the anticipation in your cries Lead me to think that our love was the truth I would follow it wherever it went as long as it led me to you But your heart refuses love of any kind I particularly like this part - excellent language use and flow. It's awesome work and tells a very powerful story! Love it!
