Failure designation

It’s a dark winter night
and you’re afraid you may not hold another fight
Did you lose all your strengths in the promises that you make?
or in the ones that you break?

They’re all gone, and you’re sad?
They no longer share your illusion
that should make you glad

"Another opportunity", you say,
You think "it’s not fair!"
But what have you been throwing away?
Now that their gone, you care?

What are you waiting for?
An opportunity to get offshore?
I thought you wanted more…

I related very much

which is an indication of how good your poetry is, because using the second person "you" can easily alienate your reader, cheers, Jess

Feedback

Hey prototype: I really enjoyed this piece!! Short yet powerful!! Good write. Mistakes happen, do not dwell on them, live them, mourn them and move on to better things. (PS: if that does not work eat lots and lots of chocolate)
