Just Gave Birth

You might not believe it to look at me now
But I just gave birth…
And what I bore
Is worth a million times more
Than all the material goods on Earth.
My child roams free,
Wild like a lion
In the Serengeti…
My child roars
And raises her paws
And causes
Torrential rain…
My child shakes her mane
And makes it plain
There will be no more storm
And once again,
Everywhere is warm.
My child sighs deeply
With huge satisfaction
And give thanks for the contraction she feels
In her womb
Her uterus,
Her living room…
My child is conceived
Immaculately,
The potential of she
Is invested in me
Suggested in me
And as she gestates,
As she waits,
As she floats in my waters,
She gets plump in my secret quarters,
And I nurture her
And as she slowly grows
It hardly shows,
And I suppose
You wouldn’t say so
To look at me now,
But I
Just gave birth.

Delightful!

I was moved by this. It could so easily have become trite but your imagery and careful use of rhyme made the whole thing resonate. But "My child is conceived Immaculately," are you a virgin? Don't mind me, just being a smartarse, or a dumbarse. I hope you meant the child's immaculateness, cheers, Jess

your delightul comment

hahahaha...perhaps I am a virgin...Loud and proud...I think it is more about the fact that creativity is borne of a different kind of fertilization and we can all give birth all the time... Thanks for reading and commenting Peace!
