The Creation of Dog and Cat
Adam said to God, one day
"I need a reminder of your love."
And then, God said, "No problem."
And he sent dog down from above.
Dog’s love and adoration
he gave Adam without fail,
dog loved Adam in spite of himself
dog was happy, and wagged his tail.
Then an angel came to God, and said
"That’s too much to be allowed…
..for Adam basks in adoration,
and he’s becoming much too proud!"
Then God said, "I’ll send Adam a cat,
an animal that won’t obey.
He’ll teach Adam that he’s not supreme
and teach him humility throughout the day."
Well, God was pleased that Adam improved
the cat was the balance needed there,
Adam’s life went on, and dog wagged his tail,
and cat absolutely didn’t care!
