Infinite Sands

Oh, speak to me,

dear sands of desert,

infinity shifting ‘neath my feet

Oh, sing to me,

you craggy mesas,

abundant, eternal, your soul’s replete

with histories

and mysteries

you who are my sisters, please

reveal it, I entreat

the timeless secret for which we yearn,

that holds the lesson we’re here to learn

that God remains complete

For you and I, dear mesas, sands,

are cupped forever in eternal hands

that gently hold us all together –

mankind, stars, plants and weather

we’re all beloved of the Father

Your poetry is beautiful

evocative and loving. Even this cynical old spiritual-atheist melted. You handle rhyme seemingly effortlessly and certainly unobtrusively. (one little typo "myteries" (sic)) cheers, Jess

Loved it

as always the rhymer in me begs for one more line between mankind, stars, plants and weather (it's senselss then our hearts to bother?) we're all beloved of the father. I know, I know, incorrigible rhymer. anyway for me the poem would be perfect with a line that rhymes with father. Nevertheless I love it as it is! RT

I'll find a word

that truly rhymes with "father", and see what I can do. Thanks, as always -- be a perfectionist, it helps me perfect my art! Reverend Bec Hudson Shine Your Light It's the ONLY Way to Get Rid of the Darkness!
