Barefoot in Socks

Atop the stones that lie
Beneath the dashing rocks,
I scan today

Those stumbling blocks
With naked eye,
Barefoot in socks—
Sans protective shoes.

I love grand views,
Through ocean’s spray,
Of wheeling gulls in flocks
In disarray,

Of endless sky—
And hearing
Crashing sounds’
Loud lullaby

Of Nature’s wild display.
