Lies to children 2

Sticks and stones
may break my bones
but words can never hurt me

A lie told from care
to protect
but how may it twist?

Kids are not stupid,
but they are cruel,

if they won’t break my bones,
they won’t break theirs

And
I won’t
get
in
trouble.

Greatest lie to children ever told

Smiles:) Barbara My favorite coping mechanism as a child from first grade all the way to my first year in college back in the early eighties. Still to this will say it and believe it. Knowing somewhere in me it is only a lie. Words do hurt braze up and you won't feel it for too long . Leaves a scar though. Great poetic style learn much from you.

Why do I find myself

Why do I find myself identifying more closely with your work the further I dig through it? Words are never just words. We know this better than most. My children will also know. Best, Ronda

I am a single mum...

Mel Inwood I have been completely honest with my oldest son about his dad from day one. I tried not to put him down, coz he is a good dad...just screwed up and in jail! But none of this has been a shock to my son, because he knew all along and was able to have all the facts to make up his own mind. I KNOW I have done the right thing. I hate lies and can't do it personally, because I am evidence of the scars left behind xx Mel...brings up interesting topics tho ;)
