What is...

What is…

What is a heart?

but something to break

as it falls in a trail of infinite pieces

never to be put togeather the same way.

What is a soul?

but a life force stuck in an earthly form

Trapped

in a body it’ll never truely own.

What is a kiss?

but a moment shared by two peoples lips

such a sweet sensation

 reborn over and over agian.

What is a secret?

but a false promise never to be kept

something that starts out as a whisper

only to be changed and spread with the wind.

What is a life?

but a mere creature with needs

constantly picking and choosing

never satisfied with what it sees.

I like

the way you ask these questions, and the sincerity in which you approach them. Each stanza could start its own poem here. I truly, truly, truly believe you should check spelling more carefully. Just a pet peeve. Your stanza starting with "what is a secret?" is killer! Good stuff Alijandra! Mark W.

as mark said, each a poem on its own

and yet the sum is greater than the parts. Beautifully written, structured and effective. The soul verse reminded me of my "My soul won't fit my body" but was better said in less words. Salute. cheers, Jess

You have a lot in there I

You have a lot in there I would have written several pieces and expanded them there are a lot of good ideas. I am a crap speller I use a wp spell checker its more important to get the idea down and then you can tinker with the mechanics later. John
