Silhouettes In The Sunset

Our dreams fall like feathers in the sunlight
So slowly and graceful
We sit and listen to the sounds of the vast ocean
How it beats and pummels its way onto those jagged rocks below
In the distance a fog horn blows to warn
All of those born at sea

Clouds block out the sun
And bring darkness down on you
And at that moment I wanted-
To tell you everything I ever thought or felt
But the fear swells in me
And spreads throughout my body

We climb to the top
And stair out into the distance
Your sundress blew in the wind and pressed against you
Becoming a silhouette in the sunset
I could only look at your beauty
Everything about you makes me happy
Your heart fills me
And you eyes… I can’t even explain
I never want that to change

“Tell me your dreams…”
“I am looking at them…”
A small smile cracks and shows your teeth
And you look away when you see mine
I wonder what has drawn us together
And what will drive us apart
But right now nothing could be better
And we will become, silhouettes in the sunset
And fade together

Lovely use of language

and imagery. The form works well for you too. I can take this aside from your other works and appreciate it as an evocative, very well written poem. Just wondering, last line first stanza, did you mean "borne at sea"? cheers, Jess
