birch limb dances to this dazzling light
great jagged cloud peaks softened by
rain are speaking
their language in tongues
gutteral and heavy
rolling their "rrrrr’s"
accentuation with chains of white fire
god creatures jumping from island
to island
cigarette tastes dry
when the rain tumbles
falls in slashing torrents
goosebumps on my skin
dampness on my eyelids
..O..
