to Jess: in memory of Brian

I once had an autistic son,

my only one,

who died at just 20,

his life snuffed out

by cystic fibrosis.

the pain at his death

near-score years ago

yet lingers,

still cuts,

still hurts,

is still sharp.

on this as art would be nothing short of an insult to you, my brother. You and your son are in my prayers. Mark
