...of a lady (presumptuous)

…of a lady (presumptuous)

She thinks she knows him
She assumes too much
How unbecoming

While the only thing he assumes
is room temperature
How death becomes him

lol!

love the comment, and hey, I was starting to comment on your poem to say I like it when I saw what you posted under it and was like "that bugger! How self - deprecating." I did quite enjoy this little work. I wonder if you could tell what the room temperature line is about?

...he assumes is room temperature

Hi, thanks for the great review...sorry for the self-deprecation - - I didn't mean for it to work out that way...I'm just glad somebody liked it besides myself...and it is true, you know...it's been a long time since I have been able to write anything that didn't include the words "I" and "hate" or "die" (well, still working on that last one!) Thanks again for the review..."as he assumes room temperature..." refers directly the process of rigormortis setting in on the body and its slow journey fom body temperature to room temperature!! confident simplicity

I love the freedom with which you write here--the mutual misunderstanding which takes place is given a nice expression using the room temperature. Neat work.
