quick stolen quiches

stray dogs coughin’ from
tight-chokin’ leashes …

tryst early romance
of two fainthearted
nouveau riches

told by quick stolen quiches …

spring flowers bloomin’ wild
off ivory towers …
and runnin’ rivers carrion
swarmin’ young microfiches …

spawn a scene that some
might hold comical, inimical,
or strangely Omar Khayyamical—
or merely facetious—

while others may think it
ridiculous, too implausible …
or simply specious.

ROFL "or strangely Omar Khayyamical—"

I should read your new postings in the morning, Chuck, it would make my day. Alas the time difference makes this impractical. Have never been one for deferring pleasure, an unfortunate copy of "The Road Less Travelled" that fell into my hands collapsed in many parts after the 5th time it slammed into a wall, I never finished it. cheers, Jess

HAhahahahahahaha..

Chuck, You make me laugh sometimes. But I have noticed that for all of the humor that you put into your pieces, there is usually a sharp knife of observation lurking in the shadows. You may sound like you are being silly in a lot of your verse, but I for one have always taken your work seriously. You have a very instense grasp of language, usage and imagery. Just wanted you to know I appreciate your poetry. -DSB
