EXUBERANCE

EXUBERANCE

Poet : Dr. Mahendra Bhatnagar

The evening,

Caught between light and shade

The rain falls,

The sky drizzles!

 

Repeatedly,

See how

The eager wind

Knocks the door-

Expected, unexpected!

 

Far and near,

In fields, in market places and on the crossroads,

Impassioned,

And knowingly getting trembling-wet

Is the beloved’s body!

 

ok, it doesn't mean its perfect

but 4 is not enough. 8) A beautifully constructed, powerfully evocative and tantalising piece. I tremble with envy. The exclamation marks... not sure cheers, Jess

I checked out your profile. Honoured to have such a distinguished person here, welcome to neopoets. I look forward not just to more of your work but to your feedback on the poetry here. This being the internet I have to add that if you are someone impersonating Dr. Bhatnagar may weasels chew your scrotum while ants eat your eyes. I love

the simple, humble imagery you put here. I am not so sure about the last line of stanza two, perhaps if you used a slash rather than a comma? But by and large a heartfelt, excellent poem.
