nothing more certain

in this world nothing
is more certain than
twisted facts is …
and bourbon tax is.

I have, too, in mind …
fruitless Bush wars
like Iraq’s is
and bright vinyl plastics
like sacks is.

there’s nothing more certain than
what d’luted herbal extracts is,
poisons like anthrax is—
and all injured food to grind …
by dulled dicing axes.

but further still,
what this world
most lacks is …
proven prophylaxis.

I wish I could

comment, Chuck, on what is cetainly an excellent piece, but I am so damn worn out and upset by the last 12 hours of drama here. Will look at it more later, I promise. Mark

I Hear You

Thanx, Mark. Yours, Chuck PS: I love your new portrait. Nicely done. Plaudits to the artist. I'm confident it's an apt likeness.

You make most of my comments wrong

and I love you for it. ne'th'lees, others attempting to emulate your style will flounder in triteness. Beware my friend, you may have become a role model, which may be an unwelcome burden. This is a truly good poem in every aspect I regard poetry. cheers, Jess
