lost cheer

so sweet she was,

the little girl

with golden curl—

and fidgin fain

on divinin’ soon,

on that very day,

a bit of sunny play …

she shortly lost

her cheer,

I fear,

on account

of dogged rain

You make me smile

and you inspire me. One thing about this one, the Concise Oxford having let me down I resorted to google and got a definition of fidgin fain as randy, horny. I wonder if I should leave google alone when I read your works and when in doubt, just let the lyric of the word come out, cheers, Jess

What?!

My dictionary has fidgin fain as curious, excited. I think I smell at least a subtle difference in our two sources. Regards, Chuckles
