Trying to Hold on

Try to hold onto me,
hold on tight,
don’t tell me to walk away,
let’s end this miserable fight.
When you say you don’t want to be with me,
it gives me pain I’ve never felt,
when you tell me you can’t stand me,
it’s like playing the worst hand ever dealt.
I’ve given to you everything,
only to have it thrown back in my face,
everyday I’m here,
I feel I’m only invading your space.
I crave your attention,
your love and your touch,
your heart and your desires,
your fantasies and such.
So try to hold onto me,
hold onto me tight,
come and talk to me,
just this once,
try to make things right.
You say you can live without me,
but I don’t know what I’d do,
if ever there comes a morning,
I don’t awaken with you.
We’ve come this far,
and I don’t want either of us to hurt,
I don’t know about you,
but I need for us to work.
So I’m holding on to you,
I’m holding on tight,
because I’m hoping,
{Oh MY God}
we can work this out tonight.
